i just got an ssd from my buddy (samsung 840 pro) and it has a corrupted windows 7 on it,

And my hdd has windows 8 on it and all my stuff, i have them both plugged into the sata connectors,

Is there a way i can wipe the ssd and then transfer windows 8 From my hdd to the 840 pro?

Hey jdmilion,

You should be able to format the SSD once you boot your system from your HDD in Windows 8. :) A format simpyl erases the partition table of the drive and makes it appear as new for the system.
After that you should be able to transfer your OS. You could either clone it, restore a system image on it or perform another migrating action. I would, however advise you to do a clean install of your OS on the SSD as it will refresh your system, get rid of any unnecessary malware and applications and enable you to avoid any potential compatibility issues. Cloning a HDD on a SSD very often makes the SSD appear as a HDD for the system and misses out important features such as TRIM and other vital for the SSD's health options.
