840 EVO Slowdowns

Cookybiscuit

So, I wouldn't really know any different unless I used the performance benchmark, but I'm using a relatively fresh install of Windows 7 and according to this...

...it's not as fast as it should be. I remember when I got it (about a year and a half ago) that it would easily do 90000 IOPS, and now it doesn't. Samsung seems to have removed the 'Performance Restoration Tool' from their downloads page.

This seems to be a common issue with the EVO SSD's, but the question is, what do?

Thanks.

-snip-

If you update the SSD to the latest firmware using samsung magician it will solve the problem of the performance getting worse and degrading. It's pretty much what the performance restoration tool would have done.
