Need clarifying please!

I have found mixed results in forum threads when googling this. What I need to know is (with my rooted android 5.0.1 tablet running twrp custom recovery) is there anything bad that can happen when wiping the android cache and the dalvik cache from the twrp recovery? Any plus's to doing it. Any downsides? Thanks for any help!!!!
