Hello guys,

I convinced my boss to get a new workstation for myself to work better, since my actual machine does not have enough ram or CUDA cores so I can work. I use the programs a lot: Adobe Premiere CC, AE, Ps, Media Encoder, Audition, ProTools, Fireworks, Corel Draw, VMWare Workstation.

No need for a new monitor, mouse, keyboard, headphones, DAC, or RAID arrays (since we already have a NAS with 4x 2TB RAID10 just for this)

Budget: $2000 USD

So my rig, right now is like this:

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80 92.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68-V PRO ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
Memory: Patriot Viper Xtreme 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: OCZ Vertex 3 60GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Galaxy GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB Video Card
Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2 800W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHES208-08 Blu-Ray Reader, DVD/CD Writer
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-14 DVD/CD Write
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit)

This rig, will be going to the Web-Designer, since whe only work with Photoshop, Corel Draw, InDesign and some other photo applications, And he also have a Quadro 600.

So, I came with this:

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RJygxr
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RJygxr/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor  ($372.95 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240M 76.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler  ($108.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI X99A SLI PLUS ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard  ($234.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($319.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (Purchased For $0.00)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  ($89.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card  ($458.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Fractal Design Define S ATX Mid Tower Case  ($79.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($64.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $1730.87

The only demands are: silent rig, lots of CUDA.

I'm not on a hurry, so I'm planning to wait for GTX 980 Ti release. And also Windows 10 (tired of Windows 7).

What you guys think, should I spend less on others components just to get a 5960k, or that's enough ?

i recommend not getting a seagate because they have the highest failure rate (had a seagate fail on me twice). so go for western digital or something since you do such important work and probably dont wanna lose it

I already have a NAS with 4TB in RAID 10 with 4x WD Red 2TB, and I need the 7200 RPM for reading 4k footag, I don't feel my data secure with WD Green. And a Black is too much expensive, also my data will be going to a DVD since here they need a backup on something that cannot be edited like a DVD disc.

I'll wait a few more comments, than I'll start buying.
