Run Windows Experience Index, and try again setting the team up. Look for overriding Aero. I recall it was a registry thing.

Also, I recall a bug in Windows 7, where the team selected is not the theme applied. Like if I pick a theme say: United Stated, it would be High Contrast, and High-Contrast would be Aero, and Aero Basic would be United States. I think it was a Windows Update that screwed it up. Regardless, play with that, see if you have the same bug.

so i ran a diagnostic after doing everything you said and it says that my graphics card does not support Aero theme....i have a 970

Looks like a driver bug.

Go Nvidia web site and get the latest beta drivers availible.

Run the drivers setup. In the setup, click on Advanced option. Then remove Nvidia 3D stuff, and check teh box to do a clean install.

Once done restart your computer, and you should be good.
