So I currently have the h440, of course airflow isn't great but I was wondering if there's a solution to that problem or should I just swap it with an Ethoo Luxe or something ? I have a h100 with AF fans cooling my 4790k but idles temp are around 44C and I'm worry that when summer time comes it's going to get worst since I live on the 3rd floor, my room is the hottest during the summer time. I also heard Noctua fans are a good solution but would that really solve my current issue?

I have H440 bbut not really any temp problems. I run 3 corsair sp 120 quites pull on front with a 360x45 rad and 3 corsair af 120 quites on the top pushing air. No fan on back as that's where my res is mounted. GPU's arent on water and are in the 60s under load. I also run the fans full blast non stop. (The corsair ones not the gpu fans)

Maybe upgrade fans and see how that goes.

I have 3 Noiseblocker eLoops B12-3 at front at full RPM (1900) pushing air inside, two 140mm fans on top exhausting through a radiator from the Kraken X61 and one AF140 as intake in the rear (filtered) and my temps are 52°C during gaming on the 4790K (not OCd) :)

Remove your top panel. That is your problem for such high temps. Try and sell the H440 and move into something with better airflow. Enthoo Pro is unbeatable.

If the top is exhaust, that wouldn't make a difference. Didn't you mean "remove the front panel" ? :)

No, remove the top panel. If you have your 240mm radiator mounted in the roof of your H440, I have consistently seen a 20-30C drop in temps just by removing the top panel. That thing chokes radiators.

Woah, never hear that one before, but if true, that is a massive drop  All I heard is about the front intake, when you take that off, 10°C temp drops... but yeah, the H440 is a sexy case, even with its airflow flaw

Yup, same thing with the front.  The case is just far too restrictive for my liking.  It looks great, but those looks aren't enough to make me comfortable with 10-30C higher temps.

Stop it, you are making me regret that I bought it :(

I dunno man, I've had the h440 for a year now and haven't had much problems with temps. My i5 @ 4.2 ghz idles at 26 degrees and peaks at around 68 during stress tests. I also let my hd 7950 hover around 75 degrees during demanding games like shadow of mordor while the fans spin at 40%. That being said, I did swap the fans out for be quiet silent wings, and added one as a top exhaust, but that was mostly for acoustics since they are virtually inaudible at full speed.

Before you discard the case, make sure you have your cpu voltage set to auto. It may be drawing more power during idle than it should.

I have no problems with temps much, bigger problem is dust, even with filters - it is either more dust with less filters, or less dust but restricted airflow with filters... I am idling at 28-30°C on a Kraken X61 (4790K stock) and went up to 65°C on 100% load during Folding@home, so temps are fine imo

I comes down to fan selection. Normally people consider airflow optimized fans to be the best intake and exhaust fans when radiators are not part of the equation. However, because the H440 has both a smaller front intake AND a dust filter slowing the air down you actually should use static pressure optimized fans. They do not move as much air but they can pull the air through the limited space and filter faster than the airflow fans that come in the case. Also adjust the fan configuration to give you negative pressure in the case, (More exhaust than intake) the case is almost dust proof so it shouldn't harm anything and it greatly improve the intake overall.

So I took off the top and front panels and it didn't help much. Idk maybe I need better cooling and a new case. Also this is my current temp with the panels off, my room tempt is around 60F: http://puu.sh/hD8Aj/b65f15ac62.png

If I need better cooling what should I get?

I've seem the Notis 450 and I'm not a fan of the way it looks. If I'm going to swap cases I would go Enthoo Luxe It still the minimal looks I like with better airflow.

I beg to differ on the negative pressure topic... I had it like that until recently and there was still dust buildup in the case even with filters, mainly could be seen on the SSD, GPU backplates and fans. Now I have positive pressure and it is MUCH better :)

I can vouch for this. I"m actually on this form looking for ways to reduce temps, and what I've realized is that if I remove the top panel, I actually get air flow. I have intake on top, and exhaust on front.

Question: If I put high static pressure fans on the top, do you think that would improve air flow? Cause right now, with the top of the case on, I literally get 0 flow.

It might help a little, but not worth $30 in new fans, which is on the low end of what you would expect to spend buying some good static pressure fans.

You would be better off selling the H440 for $70, and putting that $30 towards a Phanteks Enthoo Pro.

Something I just noticed about your original post, it says you are using AF fans.  You need static pressure fans.  Try putting the stock fans back on the H100 and see if that improves things.  You need static pressure when using fans against a radiator.  Air flow fans aren't able to push air through the fins the way SP fans can.  Even with the AF fans and the top panel removed, your idle temps dropped by 10C, which is significant.  Idle isn't whats important though, its load.  What were your load temps before, because you are now maxing out in the high 50s, which is appropriate for that cooler on that CPU.

I still think you should change cases, because to get any kind of decent performance, you would have to keep that top panel off, which is not ideal.  I own the Phanteks Enthoo Pro and I am in love with it, you will find many other Enthoo Pro owners share the same sentiment.  The Luxe is also a great buy, can't go wrong with either.

I was in this position also, that I should change cases, but who would buy the H440 after I painted on the sidepanel :(
