Rendering Help.

Hello, I have a quick question.

 

If I were to render something to make it less detailed, would that actually be lowering my preformance? Being that I am rendering extra. Or, will it just be like forcing very low textures, improving preformance?

I don't understand the question. 

Game graphics, yes. The textures.

 

EDIT: For open source game devlopment. Say If I force people's gpu to render lower textures. How does that change preformance.

And you want to lower the textures? 

Lowering the textures won't make anything worse.

It may go up depending on your system, but if you have more than 2GB of VRAM, turning the textures down wont matter much.
