What is your intended use for this build? The more details the better.

I want this to be a gaming rig but i'll also be consuming a lot of media on it - netflix, hulu, youtube, and the sorts.

If gaming, what kind of performance are you looking for? (Screen resolution, FPS, game settings)

At present its only going to be running a 1080p monitor but in the future i plan on adding a 1440p/4k monitor to the setup. This would me my first gaming pc so i would be playing all sorts of games and want to be able to max out the quality on my current 1080p monitor.

What is your budget (ballpark is okay)?

I plan on spending around $1200-1500.

I might upgrade the graphics card/ add one in SLI if needed at that time but for current use (maxing out games at 1080p), is this setup good/overkill? anything i should change?. Any way i can bring the price down without sacrificing performance would be sweet ^^. Thank you!

Looks good. Just remember to be somewhat carefull of ESD when building, so don't run around on the carpet with your fuzy shocks and knit sweater and you will be fine so long as you touch something grounded before you begin

“When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons, what the hell am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons! Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I’m gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!”

- Cave Johnson, founder and CEO of Aperture Science, in Portal 2
