M-itx is a lot smaller, just one pci express land. It is designed for very small builds. m-atx is designed for smaller builds with less sata ports than full atx. M-atx has less features than atx, and m itx has the least.

Mini-itx is restricted to 1 pci-e port (1 graphics card), and 2 slots for ram.

Micro-atx can have up to 3 pci-e slots (3 graphics cards), and 4 slots for ram.

Micro-atx also tends to have more sata ports and pci-slots.

There also tends to be a larger and cheaper selection to choose from when going m-atx.
