Cheap build suggestions.

Hi, I'm planning to build another computer, but instead for 1080p this time.

Games I'm going to be playing are CS:GO, Starcraft 2, LoL, and Minecraft

I want to minimize money I have to spend, but also want to achieve playable framerates (200+ on CSGO), (at 60-70+ for SC2 + Minecraft...)

Any ideas?

Grab an A10 7850 APU and overclock it a bit. You don't need 200+ fps because you will be limited by your monitor refresh rate and well.... your eyes. The APU will max out all of those games 60+ fps @ 1080p.

2133mhz RAM is pretty cheap too, pair that with the APU and you are sorted.

GTX 770 is great if you want to save money. Also I'd suggest getting an i5 4690K, depends how much you want to spend.

800 at max. Would want to spend less than that... Monitor price included ~100-150 so around 650-700 dollars would be budget for computer alone.

No. Just no. If really feels like you copypasta'd this from every other gaming build ever. GTX 770 is still $200-250 for used or referbished, closer to $300 new, and the i5 is upwards of $200. Especially for the games he wants to play, your i5 and 770 is overkill. When you factor in that he wants to minimize the cost, you've likely maxed his build already.

Monitor = $100 plus Windows 8.1 = $80. Your build has to be $600

I vote you go with the build I've included in the quote. It will play your games, you won't spend an arm and a leg for your build, and you'll be able to throw a Radeon card in there down the road to boost your graphical performance and essentially crossfire it with the graphical cores on the CPU. Make sure you get good quality, high speed RAM though, and that will act as your VRAM as well.

This will give you 200+ fps in CS:GO. Given psu requirements of AMD, I doubt cost would change significantly with an AMD gpu.

Yeah, from my past experience AMD sucks up a lot of power and ive discovered prices go up quite a lot for decent power supplies going to higher wattages. Do you think a GTX 960 is ok for your build instead of a 970?

Well, the 960 is ok. But the R9 280x (i know its an AMD card) can deliver much better performance than the gtx 960.

Was thinking about that too. Would a 500w psu work? If not, any suggestions on a cheap higher wattage one? preferably semi or fully modular

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vK6cvK  make any changes you want to better graphics and such, and windows is included in this so you can subtract 80 bucks from the price, and pick a monitor.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rLtmHxcheck out this build, I managed to fit an R9 290x. EVGA makes great PSU's and have a lot of mail-in rebates on Newegg.

Originally, I was thinking of purchasing a i5-4690k because I know that source engine is more or less cpu intensive than it is gpu intensive, but it does hurt because of the price. How would an AMD FX-6300 do in this scenario? What about the i5-4460? For the AMD, do you think it's worth it to upgrade to an FX-8350 from a FX-6300?

For a little bit more you could get a 8350 so its a good upgrade. I mean if you don't want to overclock then I would get the i5-4460.

It's going to be a 1080p monitor, if that's what you wanted. I'm going to get this:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/acer-h6-series-23-ips-led-hd-monitor-black/4751006.p?id=1219103673253&ref=199&loc=8BacdVP0GFs&acampID=1&siteID=8BacdVP0GFs-vfnXZ42o4w99kLfXZiiQNw

It's decently cheap, and decent size but with IPS and all that good stuff
