So my CPU is pretty stable at it's current frequency but i feel as if i could push it a bit more my overclocking using the base clock a bit. I know it's really not recommended but shoudl I spend the time and give it a try or not?

You can try it, but with your own risk. Take your time slowly, unlike multiplier change, base clock change changes other settings, one of it is RAM frequency.

It's been a really long time since I've had to touch a base clock. i remember having a really hard time getting past 106Mhz on my old AMD Athlon x2.

I'm not sure if the extra few mhz is worth the time though.

On my i5-4670k, I couldn't get the base up past 102Mhz. You can try it but really I think overclocking the multiplier is good enough for me. My i7-4790k is very happy running at 35Celsius idle at 4.9Ghz.

Hmm, depends on you I think. For me the few MHz is just not worth the time, but my friends said that it worth the time (squeeze a bit more).
