Hello,

I want to build an HTPC for music and movies in the living room.

1. I don't have a budget but would like to keep it reasonable (i.e. only good value/performance parts). I live in Canada.

2. HTPC for music and movie playback. Internet browsing and maybe LIGHT gaming.

3. Will be connected to a 1080p TV and a HiFi amplifier

4. No peripherals needed.

5. This is a build for a friend.

I already have a build in mind and would like opinions.

The thinking is he wants the quietest PC possible. When he sees the price, he will probably opt for HDD+smaller SSD as well.

If he wants the pc to be as quiet as possible you should add an aftermarket cooler, so ask the client about it if he wants it to be quiet.
