Ok but really and truly will the gigabyte be a bad card or just not the best?

the windforce cards are great but if you get a dud chances of a warranty are basically non existant and I think you void your warranty if you watercool with gigabyte for evga you jsut have to keep the stock cooler if you need to rma

So I am on areally really tight budget and need some help with a 970 I need one lower than $315 usd and currently these are the options I have

Option 1:

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn970wf3oc4gd

Option 2:

https://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-04gp42978kr

I really like the first as I trust gigabyte but it isn't their g1 and it is cheaper option 2 has way faster clock speed but is $20 more expensive and I want red and black design do black and blue would have to be modded which would be new to me which should I get and should I just save more money also second requires huge mail in rebate which disturbed me and I don't like as my parents don't like them

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

First, learn about punctuation. Periods help. 2. Mail in rebates work, you just have to follow everything to a "t" and be patient, like Moses in the desert. 3. Your earlier post mentions water cooling, if you are planning on going that route, I would do the evga. Lots of water cooling mfr.s make full covers for evga cards. The ones from Alpha Cool are really sweet.

EVGA.

Their customer service, rebates, warranty, RMA, everything is top notch.  I will forever buy EVGA because of how they have treated me on multiple occasions, and most people will share this sentiment.

You can't really go wrong with either though, I just strongly prefer EVGA for their ancillary benefits.

Was just trying to help, not every person of German descent is a nazi. Proper punctuation just makes messages easier to read. Why does everyone feel the need to be so easily offended? "Doh! this person commented on my lack of punctuation, I'm going to call him a name!" What are you? 12?

BTW-Grammar is not a part of writing. It's part of language, which is spoken. Spoken language doesn't have any punctuation or spelling, but it does have grammar. SOooooo...If you're gonna call me a nazi, at least use the right term- Punctuation Nazi. Thank you.

Heil!

He wasn't being a grammar Nazi, its just really annoying trying to read something that long with no attempt at punctuation. The reality is that many people are going to assume you are an idiot and not bother responding, or not bother even finishing reading your post. But on the plus side you didn't type in all caps and misspell every other word.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one of those cards. The Gigabyte will run cooler because its a windforce, but my guess is it wouldn't be the best for overclocking since I believe they bin all their GPUs and the best ones become G1s. EVGA did have some issues early on with their ACX 970s due to the heat pipes being offset with the GPU and not making good contact, not sure if the problem was addressed(or how much of a problem it really was) or EVGA simply said its good enough and that's that. Just something to consider.

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x,  MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 Gaming Pro wifi, CPU cooler: Noctua U12a RAM: Gskill Ripjaws V @3600mhz,  GPU: Asus Tuf RTX OC 3080 PSU: Seasonic Focus GX850 CASE: Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh Storage: 500 GB Inland Premium M.2,  Sandisk Ultra Plus II 256 GB & 120 GB

You can plan on a rebate taking upwards of a month or more to finally make it back to you. That definitely sucks.

That being said, I have positive experiences with rebates. The wait is long, but I have always gotten them back as promised eventually. If you decide on the one with a rebate, definitely follow the instructions and mail it in as soon as possible. They can offer rebates because a certain percentage of customers are going to be too lazy to mail them in—don't be a statistic!
