Okay, so I am building a $400 PC, I don't need any drives, I have 4 spare SSD's. But I am building this for light gaming, light photo editing. What would you guys recommend for some cheapo parts? I was thinking, 8gb ram, Athlon 860k and a R7 260x. I haven't locked anything in, just searching for second opinions.

PS. This is NOT my first built PC.

Edit: No peripherals needed, no monitors, no OS

While the 280 is powerful, I think a stronger CPU would be a far better investment as dual cores are quite weak.  Even an i3 would be capable of 2x the power.  Instead go for a R7 265, 260X(if crossfire later) or the 750 Ti.

For the Best builds and Price lists here is a world where many points of the price have been predefined already for your convenience!

The Xeon E3 1231 V3 IS BETTER Than the Core i5 4690K and a Significantly better value for the non-overclockers or value shoppers.

The OS is like a kind food, Try it before saying if you like it or don't.

That's what I was thinking. I did consider that processor.
