Question about PSU

Hi there. I have a simple question I would like to ask about PSUs. For example, if our parts in our pc only uses 700 watts and the power supply we have is 750 watts. Is the extra 50 watts wasted.. or it doesn't come out of you wall? Someone please explain everything to me thanks. Explain 80+, bronze gold, etc. Thanks!

You just don't use it. There's a better explanation but that info is useless. If you get a 1500W and you use 400W then you only waste money on the PSU, no power wasted. But with lower efficiency power get's wasted. So 80+ is worse than 80+ Gold. So get 750W if you are using 700W or 800W if you want.
