looks like a solid build! but i think if you are doing editing of some sort, you would benefit with an extra 8 gb ram. Other than that, good build!

Yeah the extra 8 to give 16 would be beneficial but everything else looks good. Maybe get the 970 from EVGA or Gigabyte though.

Get another 8gb of RAM since you're editing. Also, you might consider going for the Corsair H100i Liquid cooler if you plan to seriously oc.

Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P CPU: AMD FX 8350 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 8gb (2x4gb@1600Mhz) GPU: Gigabyte R9 280x (factory oc) PSU: Thermaltake SmartSE 730w Case: Corsair 200R

Looks very good but if you are going with Hasswell-E and X99, just get 16 gigs of ram, its already expensive so...

I don't know your plans for the future, but I would suggest you get a little better power supply, since a lot of what you are getting is basically the newest stuff on the market and you are going to be upgrading before you buy a new build.

The 8GB was just going to be temporary.

Why not? I heart they are pretty good.

I just don't trust super high capacity consumer drives - I heard that 3TB drives were super unreliable.

I have 2 2TB drives and have never experienced any problems with them...

Sig under construction.
