External Drive causing Windows not to load?

I'm having issues where every time I start up my computer, I get cannot find "Operating system". By leaving the External Drive connected, does that cause the problem?

Maybe boot order, set USB after your ssd or your os location

SSD is first in the boot order list. 

 

I'll keep my external un-plugged only when I need it.

I too have that same SSD in  my laptop. Haven't come across this yet. Does it boot from the SSD if you unplug the external?

Yes. It works normally. Boots up fine.

Nope. I just use it for backups.

Yes, I've seen some weird cases like this, try to delete all partition and reinstall windows on your ssd, I think there is a problem in the windows boot manager
