Help me pick a laptop

Although I enjoy using a desktop, I think the time has come to move a bit to the portable side. I probably won't buy soon, but I want to see whats available. I need something reliable with pretty good battery life capable of performing cool and quiet, but doesn't skimp on the performance either.. This will be used for:

 

-programming, python, java, web design

-light media tasks, such as watching movies, listening to music

-maybe light gaming'

-3d Modeling with blender

-general school work, documents, need a quality keyboard

 

Price is probably around $450US, but I'm kind of loose at this point.

 

Suggestions?

Seems to be to be pretty good for the price, even if it is refurbished
