Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Solitaire.

Well, if you go with 2 slots, I'd recommend getting 1x8GB DIMM for future upgradeability, though if you go with 4 slots you can get a 2x4GB kit and run them in dual channel for greater performance, and then you could get another 2x4GB kit later down the road if you need it.

ofc you could still get a 2x4GB kit for the 2 slot mobo if thats all you need, but you will have to replace either one or both dimms to upgrade.

since this IS a budget build, i'd just go for the cheaper option.

That will probably be the 2 slot board, and then 1x8gb of RAM. this leaves you open to an upgrade to 16gb if needed.

One thing to consider though, is that the g3258 really isn't a great chip stock. The main reason people buy it is to overclock it to 4+ ghz. I would consider going with a z97 board, or else upgrade a bit to an i3 to take advantage of the hyperthreading.

Specs: i7 4790k, r9 280 windforce OC, 8gb hyperx fury 1866 RAM, z97 PC Mate, 256gb mx100, black pearl r4, 2tb WD Red (soon)
