I have recently bought a Metabox Laptop P375SM with Realtek HD Audio Manager and Sound Blaster X-fi 3.

A recent update of windows 8.1 (I think) caused an interesting problem. The sound from the headphone jack is awful and tinny. The only workaround I’ve found is to move the Main Volume slider to one side in the Realtek Audio Manager. When I do that, the sound from the speakers shifts to one side only. So whenever I plug/unplug headphones  I have to move the slider.

It’s not a major issue but sure is annoying. I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers but has not helped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
