Hey guys, I am looking to do a little bit of future proofing in regards to my PSU with the Up coming Intel Skylake CPU's that will be coming out eventually.  So i was wondering what y'all would recommend in the world of 850W (minimal) and up in the Platinum ranking.  I was looking to spend $150-$200 (maybe $230 if its absolutely a must get and unanimous)

Currently i've been looking that the EVGA 1000W P2

or the Corsair AX860W (i've heard bad things about the AX860i)

Either from EVGA,Seasonic,Antec,XFX. Any plat certified PSU from these companies will be the best. Period.

But i don't think that skylake will consume that much power but that is just my opinion.

My logic was that the Leaked specs for Skylake the TDP is 95W (mine is only 77W)  and i am looking to be able to possible add a 2nd 980 in the future.

Well, then 850w are more than enough, 980s in sli are still extremely power efficient, heck 850w is propably overkill but 750 is more of the sweetspot.

Though you can't base your purchases on what are basically rumors at this point.

I have the Corsair AX860 in my new build (started Jan) and only because I know it's in fact a rebadged Seasonic platinum plus. Rock solid the whole time and I haven't heard it once yet (fan or coil whine).

I've never had any issues at all with Seasonic and barring some colossal shift in quality I'm going got be sticking with them whenever I get another.
