Hey.

What happens if you set your GPU to a MAX temp of, lets say 80, but the card want to go over that.

 

Will that impact performance in anyway? Hope the question makes sense.

CPU - i7 8700K / Motherboard - ROG Strix Z370 E/ RAM - 32GB Cosair Vengeance DDR / GPU  - GTX 1080ti - EVGA FTW3 / PSU - Seasonic Snow Silent 750W / Cooling - Cryorig H7 Monitor - Acer X34 Predator / Sound - Corsair Void - Case - Meshify C

Usually it will just ramp up the fan speed.

However if that doesn't do the trick anymore it's gonna throttle.

 

But you can see if that is the case by opening a program like msi afterburner or Precision X, it will tell you the clock speeds.
