Upgrading Gaming PC

Hey guys I currently own my first PC that i build with my father and it has 8 years and recently the hard drive broke, my dvd/cd reader broke to and the RAM.

So I want to upgrade to an Intel I5 and GTX 970, I already by 8Gb of Ram and a new hard Drive.

just want your help and opinion.

Get an i5 4690k and an Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte z97 motherboard. Also get an Asus, MSI, or Gigabyte GTX 970.

I will get the i5 4690K with the MSI z97 Motherboard and yes MSI Gtx 970 for a decent cooling unit. any good recommendations for the Power supply?
