Windows error 8.1 Help!

ashtaroth

Yeah so I just built a new machine. Installed the windows 8.1 64bit  via CD and then installed all the drivers for my gear. then after a few minutes  a BSOD appears and said critical_process_died. So I updated my OS and after a few minutes again BSOD.

Tried:

  • Memtest= no error found

  • Checkdisk= no errors found

  • sfc/ scannow= no errors found

  • Repair OS via disk= no errors found

  • OS reinstall = repeat the process from the top.

I seem to be running out of options. thinking of ditching windows 8 and going back to win7.

Specs for now:

  • i7- 4820k

  • X79 Rampage IV Gene

  • 128GB Samsung 850 pro SSD (where the OS was installed)

  • 1TBGB Samsung 850 pro SSD

  • 1 Gigabyte Titan X

  • 1 EVGA Titan X (well not yet here but arrives next week xD)

BSOD happens every 15-30 mins. Dunno whats causing it. Windows tries to find out what happened but doest move from 0% after 10 mins of waiting!

First install was ok then after update everything went downhill after the mentioned time frame. Already re installed when BSOD happened again, upadte and same stuff happens.

Yup its legit retail xD well I did install the included software from the Rampage IVs cd did not update bios yet, will do.

the os ssd may be doa. try on the 1tb ssd?

Its working fine its has been for 3 months:(

run some stress tests on it

see if we can narrow down the prob

Will do this one as well. but i did run 3d mark  and  3d mark 11 which both finished.

I forgot the ram I'm using its 16gb of corsair dominator platinum's 2400mhz but running at 1333mhz haven't tweaked anything yet.

I'm typing now on the aforementioned machine. So for now all I did was update the  Mobo bios and ran the burnin test.

Results:

Stupidly enough the 1TB one was on my enclosure having data transfered and my fujitsu was in as the second drive LOL! but still why are they removable? I think I did something wrong here. Might be hotplug or something. This is my first PC build btw  be gentle. Mobo will be upgraded to X99 when the right mATX board comes out  the ram and the cpu are already waiting xD. Anyways I hope I dont run into this one again.

Well I'm gonna leave this thing running for a while and let you guys know if the bios update worked. Already an hour in and nothing so far fingers crossed.

For some dumb reason I don't know I think I may have found the culprit. I first I thought it was the power, Maybe it was not getting enough because there are other things plugged in the extension cord. Then hardware but ran some benchmarks but there was no problems/errors. Then when I turned on HWinfo64's sensors tab thats where it all went down. I seem to recall earlier that I did that very same thing which cause the earlier crash which prompted me to  write the post above.

Then after that BSOD I boot up the machine again went straight for a few hours doing nothing but bench marking and troubleshooting. After a benchmark I opened HWinfo to monitor som fans and temp then nothing happened, after I opened the sensors tab bang BSOD. Reboot then opened HWinfos sensor tab again and sure enough bam. I don't know what's causing it or if it really is the root of the problem maybe just crazy or something. I dont even know @.@"
