Which pc build is better? This is my first time building a PC. Pls let me know about any changes you would make to the builds.

Second only add wd blue from first. Price is the same but wd  has lower failure rate.

Lower failure rate? Are you kidding me? My barracuda is going onto 11 years

I dont think failure rate is measured in how long ur hdd was working.

Most of the changes are just due to pricing. As for the cooler, the 212x is an updated version of the 212 Evo and cheaper.

You dont need source for that. Check reviews in any online shop, amazon, newegg. You will see tons 1 star reviews for that driving failing while in other hand WD blue is number 1 seller not just for looks.

3011 votes. 2343 5stars/154 1stars. WD blue Vs Seagate barracuda. 4700 votes. 2902 5stars/667 1stars.

Overall rating is WD blue with 4.6stars vs barracuda with 4.0stars rating.

So yeh Seagate barracuda is more popular by having more votes and has a little bigger 5stars rating and lots bigger 1star rating. You can argue with numbers.

I don't suppose you've read all the reviews.. The first review of the ST2000DM001 is just complaining about the listing, what the buyer thought of Seagate's policies independent of their actual experience with the drive, and touting the aforementioned Backblaze article.

 

One thing you never trust is online shop reviews.

^ Sort of--be sure to take them with a mountain of salt. A huge portion of bad member reviews I've read came down to the buyer not knowing how to use the product.

You really think some1 gonna read all 667 reviews? It doesnt change anything. If buyer would be happy with his product he would not 1star it. And actually i did read quite a lot of them before posting and most of them were DOA or death in 12 months period.

How can i say. I rather trust something with 3k reviews from ppl that had that thing, then 1 guy who thinks thats how it is.

Some people only review things when they have a problem with it. There are probably thousands and thousands of other people who are quite happy with a product but don't take the time to rate it. I would take more note of professional review sites such as Kitguru over Amazon and Newegg.

Exactly. You get people rating 1 star due to bad packaging or slow delivery etc which has nothing to do with the quality of the component/item in question.
