Hi there everyone. I just joined. My sister and I want to build a gaming PC that can handle current games and obviously older ones as well. The budget we are shooting is in between $500-600. Hopefully it's possible to have a decent budget friendly gaming pc at that price range.

I don't know of this helps, but my zip is 33914

The case can be whatever, so long as it holds the mobo and parts comfortably.

This will be used for gaming and web browsing.

Also I don't know if it helps, but I'll probably hook this up to my living room tv if it's possible with what I'm asking for, as for peripherals. I'll handle that. I have lots of mouses and keyboards laying around.

Again thank you for your advice and time taken.

I agree this is a solid build for the price (single channel ram though :( )

Thanks chri5. Now I have to ask is 8gb or ram the supposed sweet spot or is it 16 gb?

8GB is more than enough for gaming

if anything see if you can find a 4GB x 2 kit just so it can run in dual channel as opposed to single channel

Phenom II X6 1090T @3.6ghz , EVGA GTX 770 SC, 8GB Hyper-X ram, Adata SX900, WD Black, Corsair HX850, LG IPS234, Logitech G9x, Logitech X-230, Netgear R7000

Thanks guys. Also will this build be fine hooking up to say a 60" tv, as a holdover for a monitor?

You'd be better served with something like below. that entry level build on pcpartpicker will limit the AAA titles you can play due to the 2 core limitation. You'd really benefit from getting a i5-4460 instead. This build would power 1080p without issue and could be hooked up to a TV via HDMI.

Yes, long as you have a cable long enough. Might not want to use LEDs in it if it'll be sitting near the TV if you like to watch movies in the dark at times. Usually you'll be looking at a bit higher response time for a TV, especially if it's cheap or an old model, along with some higher input lag, especially if it's a smart TV or something.

Of course these are things console gamers live just fine with, so it's not like it's a dealbreaker for gamers. Heck, everyone's different; you may not even notice.

I don't do signatures.
