144hz stopped working?

Go to solution Solved by MrCoolTheCucumber,

The reason may be that would happen is if the monitor is connected to a single-link DVI port. If your video card has two DVI ports, try the other port hopefully it may work.

I'm using display port :/

Edit: I realized that since the screen was just artifacting (if thats even a word), it must of been a driver problem, as I did recently update the driver. So I reinstalled the driver and now 144hz works great!

So I recently got the Asus VG248QE which is a 144hz monitor. When I first got it, the 144hz mode was working fine. However today I finished downloading GTA V and after a low memory crash, the refresh rate was set back to 60hz. Now if I select the 144hz mode through windows, my screen will go all fuzzy and blurry. Has the monitor messed up? Also, the option of 144hz has been removed for 1080p resolution in my nvidia control panel. 120 hz works fine however.

I'm also using a display port connector.

Graphics card is an Asus gtx 970 strix if that helps.
