PC Power Strip

It's typically just a label system to help you keep track of which plug goes to where.

I've never seen them have different functions for the different sockets.

Is getting one of those power strips that designate certain plugs for things like the monitor, pc and speakers, better than an average power strip?

 

Most of those are no difference, there are some power strips I have encounter that have an eco or power save function where the master or main device using that strip is off and drawing very little wattage it will flick off the entire strip to conserve standby power. Other than that no real difference, jsut make sure it's a good quality strip with surge protection.
