i need help upgradeing my pc i bought it from best buy 2 years ago and with gta 5 coming out soon i would have to upgrade it iv'e never built a pc before so if anyone can help me i would appreciate it

my budget is 250$-275$

i need:

psu (600W) modular

video card

motherboard (not sure what mine is

case: bottom mounted psu

better ram not sure if mine is ddr 2 or 3

hard drive 1 TB

my goal is to make gta run at 60 fps medium to high settings

GTX 960 ($200+tax)
Corsair CX430 ($39+tax)

on newegg (look for these parts and prices in local stores to avoid shipping costs)

 

your cpu is rated at 65watts and a gtx 960 will consume 200w max
 

should be good to run at medium-high settings

and your HDD is "good enough", just dont run any other demanding applications while gaming

 

of course things can ge improved but with that budget i dont see other options atm

hopefully someone else in the forum can find you some better deals

I would HIGHLY recommend upgrading the power supply before installing a new GPU
