I needed some more space on my "Secondary Drive". When I try to extend the "Secondary Drive", I get the following error:

The operation you selected will convert the selected basic disk(s) to dynamic disk(s). If you convert the disk(s) to dynamic, you will not be able to start installed operation systems from any volume on the disk(s) (except the current boot volume). Are you sure you want to continue?

How can I add that 200GB to my "Secondary Drive" while still maintaining my ability to boot off of another partition on that drive?

Thanks for all your help!

Can you post a screenshot of your diskmgmt.msc. All that error message is showing, is that if your boot partition is on this secondary drive and you press continue that you will not be able to boot the OS anymore. Look for any boot or system partitions on the secondary drive, if there are not any, feel free to click yes, however if your unsure post the screenshot and we can let you know.

Also please confirm you have 2 physical drives, and not 2 partitions on the one physical drive.

As @Blake suggested, can you post a screenshot of your disk management? How many drives and how many partitions on each drive do you have? If you don't have any booting files or the OS on that secondary storage drive (physical one) you should be all good to go.

This MIGHT help you out

On my SSD, I shrunk my C drive by 60gb.

I then later created a 500mb volume and then dried to expand the unallocated space back into my C drive and it didn't work - I found I had to delete the extra 500mb partition I made and ONLY THEN could I re-allocate that unallocated space back to my C drive.

Hope this has helped
