To be honest I don't really believe it. After the FX lineup's shortcomings, I don't think loading up the die with a ton of tiny cores is the route they wanna take. Probably better to have 8 cores max, each with twice the transistors and more cache to itself.

 

Either that or the 16-core model isn't a mainstream part and is a server part with a gigantic die.
