Is my PSU dead?

edmund306

THe PSU I am using is very old and recently built a scrap yard pc with parts people do not want. I got a brand new AMD FX 6300 Black edition with used gtx 660 8gb crucial ballstic memory which is brand new and a samsung 850 evo ssd which is also brand new, the psu is a coolmax which got lotsa scratches on it and looks old. recently I got to keep unplugging it to different power sockets to see if it will work, after 10 plus tries it finally powers up, but today I am not having any luck, so im guessing the PSU is the problem right?

Replace it. You don't want to be using new components with an old power supply, especially with a brand like Coolmax, which aren't associated with good quality PSUs.
