Hello guys! I recently bought a microphone as I am trying to get into streaming, and I also generally want a better mic. The Audio Technica AT2020USB+ is a great mic, it offers very nice quality, but the legs that comes with it are not shock absorbent at all so I will get a stand and I also need to get a pop-filter with it. However, it is really sensitive, it picks up everything. And on teamspeak, I can adjust the sensitivity (I am not a push to talk man) on skype however, its not as easy. So what I am wondering is, is there any kind of solution either get some windshield or some kind of software that will make it mute itself automatically when there isn't anything to transmit or lower the sensitivity, or both? Like I did a quick little google search but I didn't find anything. This would also come in handy while streaming.

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.

A cheap windshield? A sock. Legit haha. A sock is the best ghetto upgrade I've put on my microphone. Give it a go and try different types. Thin, thick, woolen, other materials.

I have a sock on it at all time, but I recently even got my first mechanical keyboard (Don't judge) which just makes my problem worse... The sock only help with the popping sound, it seems to have little to non impact on the sensitivity of it and what it pics up and what it doesn't pick up. Just to put things a little into perspective. I can close the door to my room and get a relatively quiet environment,, but with this mic I can still pick up low talking in the living room. And yes, my mic is in my room, not in the livingroom...

Only thing to do is lower the sensitivity and move it closer to your mouth.

And how would I do that SSL? I'm not just talking teamspeak, Skype aswell and other programs and uses that doesn't have the option to lower the sensitivity.

Maybe set the sensitivity from windows setting (recording devices), and uncheck the option 'give applications exclusive control' or something like that.

Oh, and you gotta quote SSL, otherwise he wouldn't know that you're replying to him.
