Hello Everyone,

So I am pretty sure the CPU is dead but I would like some extra opinions on this before I come to a conclusion.

Parts:

Asus Maximus v Extreme

i7-3770K

Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz

Seasonic 1000W Platinum

Corsair 1000W

Background:

For the past month I was painting my case and adding water cooling so I moved what was inside to a temporary case.  Everything booted fine and ran without a problem.  When the Case was done, I moved everything back.  Mounted the motherboard, attached the water blocks, and the rest of the power cables for measurement.  Did some cable organization and pulled the motherboard back out with the water blocks.  I have Quick Disconnects before the CPU and after the RAM blocks to do easy maintenance on the board if needed.  Put the setup on a cardboard box and connected power from a spare power supply.  Pushed the power button and got the code 00 and the CPU_LED turned red.

One thing to note about the CPU is that it was delidded.  I removed the IHS awhile ago to redo the thermal paste between the die and IHS.  Reattached the IHS and everything worked.  It still worked when it moved from case to case.  However, when it was moved back to the "new" case, I removed the IHS to attach the Naked Ivy set for the EK Supremacy block.  So now it is die - Thermal Paste - copper block.

Methods of testing:

Removed all RAM sticks but one and tried each slot - Nothing

Used the BIOS flash to version 1903 - Nothing

Re-attached the IHS and mounting bracket - Nothing

Cleared CMOS - Nothing

Removed CMOS battery for 15 hours - Nothing

Switched BIOS - Nothing

Attached fan to CPU_FAN - Nothing

No Bent pins on the CPU Socket and no discoloration on the CPU itself.

So what can I do?  Went through a good amount of troubleshooting and it seems like one or the other is dead.  I have no way of getting a spare cpu or mobo and not that many sites sell IVY bridge anymore.

Wasn't planning on changing these out until the next generation Intel so I have no clue how the current generation is.  What would you guys recommend for a replacement i7?

Thanks.
