Question - Mainboard and CPU

Hey,

 

I have the AMD Sockel AM3+ Mainbpard. Can I upgrade the CPU to a Intel Core i5-4440 by this mainboard? And when I upgrade my Grafics card to a Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strike, get i Problems or not?

 

Sorry for my bad english But I hope anyone can help me.

No, you will need a completely new motherboard of LGA1150 socket type.

@Towelie The i5-4440 is a 1150 socket, which is a completely different socket to AM3+. As zlolslavez said, you'll need to buy a LGA 1150 socket motherboard. As for upgrading to a 970, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine with the i5 (if you upgrade)

@Towelie If you're planning on upgrading to an i5 and a 970, I would also upgrade your power supply to a 650w should be fine, or if you want to be "really safe" get a 700w. Any from Corsair or Be Quiet! should do. Your case can JUST hold the EVGA 970 ACX 2.0.

For non-K CPU stock is enough. If you want something bit quieter and better, 212 Evo from Coolermaster is among the best. For case anything with 2 intake (front) fan slots will be fine. Define R-series is worth to check out.
