Can anyone here tell me what the implications are for adding a higher wattage motherboard to my laptop. I have recently lost my motherboard in a spill accident, and I need to order a new one. I have only been able to find one of a slightly higher wattage at a decent price. I have a 37w mobo now, but I am finding a 42w mobo online. Will this work fine in my laptop?

it will affect battery life but not as dramatic as you think

but be sure your ac adapter has plenty of juice to keep the battery and laptop charged

those 65W adapters should still be ok for you

if you find the battery draining even when on AC, you may need to find the 90W one for your laptop model

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Thanks for the specifics. I appreciate the info. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't stir up any gremlins. I'm new to laptops :)
