first, since you pick FX, and not only that... it is the weakest link among all FX even if it's affordable for you.

combine with old chipset it will hold HT, I know that many people said it's fine, but it still doesn't make it right.

if you really want AMD stuff, get FM2 solution

If you have right at 500 and cant save get a ps4. If can save 700-800 will give you a much better than console. For 500 i would get a console. For your build, its ok you want 2 ram sticks so they run in duel channel, a i3 really i5 or 8320 to be set for years in the cpu department you can go cheper not by much. The 280x is a good deal though. If you put this in new builds and planning you wil get alot more input. Can you save anymore $?

I would eventually upgrade the cpu (among other parts), im on a real strict budget at the moment and just looking for something to start out with

Ok, well pick up a better cpu or a clear upgrade path, am3+ or z97 and get a slightly worse gpu, 285 or 280 and at the very least get a 270x. Wait for sales and check out some of other peoples budget builds. A xbox1 and ps4 have close a a amd 7850 as a gpu a 280 kills it.

Personally i would never go to /r/mustardrace again, buildapc is a better sub

but that build looks "okay", it would be reasonably powerful, but id reccomend looking at the used market in the area you live, because getting an AM3+ motherboard will lock you into AMD processors which has a dead future, though the 6300 is alright.

If possible save a few more bucks and try to get an intel board and a 3258.

Intel i5-3570K/ Gigabyte GTX 1080/ Asus PA248Q/ Sony MDR-7506/MSI Z77A-G45/ NHD-14/Samsung 840 EVO 256GB+ Seagate Barracuda 3TB/ 16GB HyperX Blue 1600MHZ/  750w PSU/ Corsiar Carbide 500R
