Hey guys. I've been building a super budget gaming pc for the past week or so, and I'm looking for input on what GPU to get. Currently I have a Dell precision t3500 tower. It came with a Quadro FX580 budget card, so I'm looking for an upgrade.

Current Specs:

Intel Xeon X5470 quad core @2.93 GHz

9 GB 1066 MHz RAM

525W Dell PSU

Lite-On 256 GB SSD

I've been looking at used Radeon 7970 cards on ebay, and I think I can get one for about $160. Since I have the quadro card though, I was wondering if I would see a benefit from using an Nvidia card and selecting the FX580 as a PhysX processor. What do you recommend? Will other things bottleneck the card too much for a 7970 to be worth it?

AsRock z77 Pro3, i5 3570K@4.6GHz, PNY GTX 1060 6GB, Lite-on 256 GB SSD, Acer 257HU 1440p monitor, Windows 10 Pro and Ubuntu 16.04. All in a weird OLD Lian Li case.

The quadro card is complete trash compare to the 7970. Don't bother with using it as a physx processor either it will just slow you down. That thing belong in the trash bin. Just get the 7970
