I will be building my first computer in the near future, but I'm not quite sure what GPU I should choose.

I Think I will go for MSI GTX 960 or Asus GTX 760

Wich is better? I've heard that they are basiclly the same thing only that the 960 is slightly better in performance and power consuption.

But since they are both the same price, is there any reason to go for the 760 instead of the 960?

What do you Think I should go for and why?

And do you think I should go for another brand?

Rest specs.

AMD 8350 Black Edition

MSI 970 gaming ATX

Corsair Vengeance LP 8 GB 1600 MHz

Corsair RM550 80+ Gold fully modular

Seagate 1TB SSHD

Fractal Design Define R5

My budget is below 1000$ (910€, 670£)

Now, you guys need to stop putting 80+ Gold PSUs, very expensive cases and SSDs to put what? Midrange GPU and CPU. Just buy 1TB HDD and buy the SSD in the future. -_-

I don't Think you understand my question.

I'm happy with my other choices (except the SSHD, I think I will only buy a HDD and SSD later, smart)

I only want to know what the difference between GTX 760 nad GTX 960 is and which one I should choose.

Neither, not at your budget.

But what is the defference between GTX 760 and GTX 960?

One has a "7" in the number, one has a "9".

The R9 280 is usually a better buy than the 760, and the R9 280X is usually a better buy than the 960.

well im going to be the one whom answers your damn question the 760 is a good card but doesn't perform to the standard of a 960 by any means. the 960 has a higher clock speed better power consumption and is new tech so it will run better with newer games eg. GTA 5 it will be easier to get drivers and support for the 960 unlike the 760 and also the fact that if anything happens to the 960 easier to get a fix for in been new so yes the 760 undoubtedly is a good card but the 960 is the way to go i would recommend getting a good cooler for it though the parts you have currently are renown for spitting out quite a bit of heat so go with a good cooler like windforce or strix or go the NZXT Kraken an all in one gpu water cooler.

Its ok it hard to get an answer out of this forum sometimes people like to recommend

(also one thing i recommend is forking out a little like i'm Australian so its $80 for me it might be different for you but try and get a 4gb card not a 2gb that will blow the 760 out the water)

Ps. sorry for my grammar i'm not that great =D

Go with the 960. http://www.anandtech.com/show/8923/nvidia-launches-geforce-gtx-960 and http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gigabyte_geforce_gtx_960_g1_gaming_review,13.html 960 runs better but depends on the game.
