I vote Intel, you'll have a much better experience. 

Also I recommend at least getting a 60GB SSD for your OS and maybe a game or two. SSDs make a huge difference.

Also ditch the fan controller and LED controller. A month after building your PC you are gonna hate those LEDs and wish you never dropped $80 on that. Put it towards the video card if you go that route.

Go i3 to save some dosh.. keep the z97 for a cheap upgrade with OCing later.. or if you'll never oc, you can save a bit on the board too. and drop in an i7 second-hand in a couple of yrs.
