Pc without gpu for a month.

Go to solution Solved by SteveGrabowski,

I will be buying a new gaming pc in few days but I currently don't have enough money left for gtx 970. I will be getting required money for gtx 970 under a month but till that time I will be using my pc without any gpu.

Will I be able to do normals tasks such as web browsing, movies and playing games such as tf2,cs go on low settings?

Planning to buy:

Processor : intel i5 4690k

Motherboard : Asus Maximus vii Ranger

Cpu cooler : Noctua NH-D14 SE2011

Psu : Corsair CX 750w

Ram : 2x4gb Sniper 2100

HDD : seagate barracuda 1TB

Gpu : gtx 970 (Month Later)

Case : haven't decided yet

Any comments on the release date and price of Amd r9 380 or 390 ?

Any suggestions on buying case I don't wanna end up buying case that won't fit my gtx 970 or maybe r9 380?

Why a $270 motherboard and an i5-4690k? Why not a $130 motherboard like an Asus Z97-A and an i7-4790k? People will say there are diminishing returns with an i7 vs an i5, but they're nowhere near the diminishing returns of a super highend Z97 board over a more mainstream Z97 SLI board like the Z97-A.

HD 4600 Can handle pretty much handle all of that... It really isn't as bad as people think, I'm running off it right now due to waiting for my GPU to be returned. As for games like tf2 on low settings, no problem. I could run it on my i5 MacBook Pro with HD 3000 anyway...

There isn't much of a difference in the price of those two motherboards where I live $245 and $210. But I might buy i7-4790 with some cheap aftermarket cooler instead of i5 with noctua.

Thanks for the heads up :)

I ran off the iGPU in my 4690K for 2 months before I got my 970 G1 Gaming, and the iGPU did surprisingly well. TF2 at 1080p without some of the more intensive settings was very playable. Bioshick Infinite at the lowest preset 900p was also very playable. It's not that bad of a GPU but it can't compare with my 970 now :)
