Upgrade Help

I have been thinking about an upgrade recently, but I am not sure what would best fit my system. I currently have an Intel Xeon 1230 V2, GTX 760, and 8GB of memory. I play games and do rendering a lot. I have a budget of $200-$300, any advice would be appreciated.

save up for a gtx 970 or wait for r9 300 series
