Hey I recently borrowed an OUYA from a mate. Initially at the thought of a sub $100 ARM powered console that came with a controller did bring about some excitement. Having actually used it, just absolutely dismal. The controller had sticky buttons, graphics were below par and download servers were slow. Well that's just me. Any comments from anyone else who might not share the same opinion?

I've never used it, however from what I've seen you might as well just connect a controller to your phone. I think it might be an option for people that really can't afford anything else and they just want to play a few simple games, however just as the price would suggest it really is below par anything else, even a phone.

Even though it doesn't have the best reputation online, the thing is sold out at every local retailer in my area. I understand the appeal, but I also don't understand why people would choose an Ouya over a Wii, which isn't THAT much more expensive. Perhaps it's the appeal of cheaper games via the Ouya store.

I can't personally get behind the Ouya because of the questionable quality of the controller, the HDCP encryption on the HDMI port (open, my butt), and the lack of the Google Play store.

The only thing I'm glad to have the Ouya in the wild is the fact that it's causing other manufacturers to take notice and start developing competing solutions (even Madcatz has one).
