would this be a good pc to run all the new top games that are out?

Everything is fine except the graphics card, get a 960 or  280X as they are both much stronger and around the same price. (280X is better than 960 I would grab that unless you NEED nvidia features)

you don't need a z97 mobo with a locked i5. and don't cheap out on the power supply. 80+Gold if you can. if you chose this case because you love it and wouldnt pick anything else even if your life depended on it, well so be it, but its a bit pricy for a budget build imo.

Adding to what the other said I would probably add an SSD to the build just to make everything snappier.
