Server os..?

Go to solution Solved by Burusutazu,

I do not plan on using windows server.. Not because I it uses more resources.. but its because it cost money :P So that is why I would go with a Linux server OS. Does anyone know how I can get drivers for the Inspiron 660s for Redhat?

Linux usually has the drivers built into the kernel, if it's using integrated graphics you shouldn't have to worry about them.

Ok.. so I did get a dell poweredge 1850 since I saw it for $50 bucks.. Hardware fail light makes me cri(Not really, xD) Still got components.. but when I got that.. I decided I wanted to host a website! I have several computer's lying around that is candidates :P I have a machine with 4gb of AMD ram.. and a 2ghz single core athlon 170u.. I have a laptop with 3gb of ram, a crap weird issue were the display has alot of red dots(New display didnj't fix.. also blue dots as well.. but not to bad for server use) and I have tried a different display.. but its works just fine on external monitor(but I can still use it perfrectly without monitor.. just ugly, fine for server) and it has a core 2 duo. I have another laptop with 2gb of ram.. a display that is coming off.. well its just kinda falling apart.. da laptop is.. but it still works! It has a core 2 duo as well.. and.. SHOTS FIRED! here is the best candidate of em all! It has a dual core Pentium G651 @ 2.84 ghz.. that I have been using constantly at 50 percent for very light ziftrcoin mining(Shot amounts xD) And it features 4gb of ram, can be instantly upgraded to 8 if I want to!(The ram will be mismatched :P) It is  a Dell Inspiron 660s, small form factor Has 2 low profile PCI lots, a pcie x16 slot, and a pcie x1 slot! It has a 500gb WD blue drive! Missing a low pofile PCIE bracket.. and it is just all goood! So since the choice is obvious.. I think I might have wasted some time :P

Now for the main point.. how am I going to get drivers for redhat on a Dell Inspiron 660s :/? Also. if I get a website subscription with Bigdaddy.. Will this be able to handle decently.. I mean I will hook it up to ethernet if I do do this.  What do you think.. I mostly have that thing on how I will get the drivers.. Plz help :P:) Lol

Windows server 2012 or 2015 when it releases or linux. (Linux is probably your best option if you want as little resources used by the system as possible)

Ohh, ok cool. Thanks. Good to know, because if I just put windows onto a computer, it won't work without drivers, thanks xD
