Overclock temps

Hey guys,

I have a 4690k overclocked to 4.6ghz @ 1.275v. O/c was done automaticly via AI Suite and is perfectly stable. I started logging the temps and during gaming it goes to mid 60s ©. During Aida64 stress test the temp slowly claims to 69c and doesnt go above that.  (+20mins).

The problem comes with Prime95. During Blend test it maxes out in the lower 60s ©. But if i select the SMALL FFTs test the temps  slowly climb to 90c!

Is this normal? Would you guys suggest backing up on the overclock?

first of all don't use Prime95 in Devil's canyon CPUs . second use bios for overclocking third at 4.6 ghz 1.27v are good use bios and i bet it will stabilize below 1.25v . that will give you much better temps . stress test it for 8 hours then see where will temps stop rising . with H100i at 1.27v volts after 20mints without hyperthreading 69C is high .do go above 1.3v and 75C.

Thanks a lot for the help! A quick change to 1.248v already shows about a 10c drop. Ill keep messing with it and report back
