The Radeon 7990 is going to be discontinued during Q3 of 2013

Athenos

From what I can gather they don't want a competing product with the upcoming launch of the 9000 series.

Also would it be up to the title of shortest lasting flagship card? It has only been around a few months.

O_o if the prices fall on this card, can you imagine $6-700 7990s?

It really is unfortunate, but this was a card plagued by cripplingly defective crossfire performance and heat issues. I am still hopeful that AMD will be aggressively competitive with the 9000 series, but nVidia has skillfully taken the flagship market this series.
