Steam controller D-pad

Hi guys,

 

I have been looking for a video ro article about the Steam controller that explains how the D-Pads work. 

  I want to know that for example the right D-pad that is suupposed to move the camera is going to be like a track pad where you have to constantly swipe left for the camera to move left

or is it going to be a virtual stick where you just "hold it" to the left and the camera is going to go to the left?

  Also, what is the function of the top right D-pad, is it just like a programable D-pad and buttons, because the  analog stick is what going to move the person (in fps games mostly).
