Hey guys, i'm looking to build a new computer over the summer. i have a price range at around $500 CDN. Since the computer i have right now is STILL running Windows XP,with 2gb of ram, the chagne is quite overdue. i have replaced the power supply and the harddrive quite recently so that wont be included in my purchase. I want to run GTA V, not at ultra settings, but playable settings. (dont include windows)

here is what i have come up with:

Please look it over and give me some suggestions.

I thank you for taking time to read this and respond.

(I live in the Richmond Area btw)

Edit:

Currently have a 450 W PSU, forgot the name but its 80+

Well, to start off with the compatibility issues, the case you are using supports USB 3, but there are no headers on the motherboard. Second, the motherboard will need a BIOS update ASAP. So after you assembled it, you should update the BIOS.

Some suggestions:

-If all you need is speed rather than cores, the Pentium Anniversary edition is a no brainer. Invest into a cooler unit (usually an Hyper Evo 212) so you can overclock to 4.X GHz without bad temps.

-Make sure you have an efficient PSU, like an 80+ certified PSU.

My Current Build:

CPU: Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.5 GHz MOBO: ASUS Z97M mATX RAM: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 1600 MHz Storage #1: Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HDD Storage #2: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120 GB SSD GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280X WINDFORCE Case: Cooler Master N200 PSU: EVGA 80+ Bronze 600B 600W Monitor: AOC 2367 23" IPS Display

Future Upgrades
RAM: Samsung 8GB (2 x 4 GB) @ 1600 MHz (for a total of 16 GB) Storage #3: Sansung 850 Pro Series 256 GB SSD GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Twin Frozer V Case: Corsair 350D Window mATX PSU: Cooler Master VSM 80+ Gold  650W

Your 4160 might have compatibility issues with H81, B85, H87 an Z87 motherboards.  Either pick an i3 4130 with one of those boards, or... pick a H97 or Z97 with the 4160.

Another option is to contact the retailer and verify whether of not that H81 mobo is revised to Haswell Refresh specifications.
