The Extreme IV v2

I Am currently working on a school project where i have build an own computer case from scratch and the idea is to fill it with "extreme hardware".
I know that some of my hardware is not extreme but it works for me. I will upgrade the gpus someday when i can afford it.
Hardware:
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme x79
Intel i7 3930K
16gb Corsair Vengeance
HD 6870 Crossfire
Corsair AX860
Corsair Force 3 120GB
5x Scythe Slip Stream (temporary)
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (temporary)

Water Cooling:
EK-Supremacy - Acetal + Nickel
EK-Reservoir Combo DCP 4.0
EK-CoolStream RAD XT (360)
EK-CoolStream RAD XT (240)
2x EK-FC6870 - Acetal+EN Nickel
2x EK-FC6870 Backplate

CAD model of how the chassis will look like without the side panels and the motherboard plate.

I use this machine to bend the plates.

The rear plate will be screwed in to the motherboard plate. You can also see the front.
I choose to only have one 5.25 "for a fan controller because i dont need an optical drive.

The "basket" that will hold the fan controller in place.

The top is welded to the frame. Now it's really starting to look like a case.
post-1745-0-19378800-1378923957_thumb.jp
Here i have made the motherboard plate bigger and screwed it to the rear.
post-1745-0-15908800-1378923968_thumb.jp
The holes where ugly so I made a new plate.
post-1745-0-65719000-1378923955_thumb.jp
Test fitting the power supply holes too.
post-1745-0-83285600-1378923950_thumb.jp
Here I have installed some temporary fans. I have also made an middle plate so the psu has its own "chamber".
post-1745-0-75065500-1378923968_thumb.jp
I only use SSDs so the easiest way to mount them is to stick them to the back of the motherboard.

Now I Am testing the case with some hardware. At this moment i didn't knew that EK would sponsor me, so i was planning to buy an H100i and a new gpu.

Here you can see a comparison of the v1 and v2 of the case. Notice i did a few changes, the biggest one is that its smaller.

This picture is taken when i got the case parts from the painter. I was still fresh so i waited a day for it to dry.

And then i installed my hardware in it again for some more testing.

Today I got the last parts for the water cooling. I'm planning to start installing it this weekend.

post-1745-0-44663400-1378923985.jpg
It has been a while since I updated but have had other things for me so haven't had the time to upload the pictures. As you can see, I mounted some parts out of the water cooling in the computer. I had to remove the plates that lock out the power supply as the res was to high.
post-1745-0-01540500-1378923985.jpg
Took the fan control from the other project, I will buy a new one if i need to some day.
post-1745-0-73630900-1378923984.jpg
I also changed fans to 5 Phobya Nano-G 12.
post-1745-0-21889200-1378923990.jpg
Cpu block in place! Really easy to install on socket 2011.
post-1745-0-65537500-1378923987_thumb.jp
Pump o res combo assembled.
post-1745-0-91493200-1378923988.jpg
I put a fill port on the bottom so I can drain the whole system easily.
post-1745-0-64597100-1378923986_thumb.jp
As this was my first time to install watercooling I put a lot of paper in the system while I was testing the watercooling.
The gpu blocks didn't fit but i am working on a solution so stay tuned!

Now I have plans for one or more new cards from the green team as Iam tierd of amd. Big shoutout to my sponsor EK and hope that new graphics cards coming soon.
